Due to the increase in fuel prices in the country, the attention of people is turning towards CNG, the latest example of this is the newly launched cars of Tata Motors Tata Tiago CNG and Tata Tigor CNG cars. Both these cars were launched in January, and people bought more than 3,000 vehicles of these two vehicles within a few weeks of the launch.
With the Tiago CNG and Tigor CNG, Tata Motors became the third mass-market carmaker to offer factory-fitted CNG kits in its passenger vehicles, the others being Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai.
The veteran automaker launched its CNG range Tata Tiago and Tata Tigor in the Indian market on 20 January 2022 at a starting price of Rs 6,09,900. The company says that these cars are equipped with advanced iCNG technology. In the CNG car segment, Tata is competing with cars like Maruti and Hyundai.
Features
In terms of features, Tata Motors has also updated the top-spec XZ+ trim in both the Tiago and Tigor range. The Tiago XZ+ gets a new midnight plum color option with a dual-tone black and beige interior theme. The rest of the range has been given a black and gray interior theme as before. In terms of features, the 2022 Tigor now gets rain-sensing wipers and automatic headlamps on the XZ+ trim. Other interior changes on the Tigor XZ+ include new seat fabric and a dual-tone black and beige interior theme.
Engine
Coming to the engine, the Tiago CNG and Tigor CNG are powered by a 1.2-liter, three-cylinder Revotron petrol engine. The petrol engine generates 86hp power and 113Nm peak torque. On the other hand, if we talk about the engine of the CNG variant launched today, its engine produces 73hp of power and 95Nm of peak torque. This means that there is a difference of 13hp power and 18Nm of peak torque between the respective petrol and CNG versions of the Tiago and Tigor.
